It is a documentary film about the death of the Blessed Priest Jerzy Popiełuszko. It is based on the revealed materials of the Bureau of Investigation of the Ministry of Interior and Administration deposited in the Institute of National Remembrance. The revealed materials are video recordings of the contradictory testimonies of Adam Pietruszka and Grzegorz Piotrowski, who are the executioners of the Blessed Priest. Shockingly, both executioners defend themselves without any emotions as they remain calm and are able to talk about the details of the operation and describe how they intended to kill the priest. The film also contains materials coming from site inspections where the scenes of priest's abduction, beatings and tortures were reconstructed. Shocking scenes of the autopsy and taking out the butchered body from the Vistula River were recorded with a Security Service camera. The fragments are also included in the documentary. Nevertheless, “Priest” is not an investigative film but it rather presents the horrifying story of Popiełuszko’s death. Since it refers to values, it is absolutely moving and triggers reflections about cruelty, history and life.
