24 years of TVP Polonia

TVP Polonia started broadcasting on 31 March 1993 at 4pm, as the third satellite channel in Poland after TVP1 and TVP2.

TVP Polonia targets mainly Poles living abroad. The signal is available via satellite and from cable providers. Thanks to global range, TVP Polonia integrates millions of compatriots living all around the world. The core mission of the station is to spread the knowledge of Polish language, culture, history and current affairs. Another vital aspect of TVP Polonia is to provide viewers with news updates – by watching the channel, viewers have a chance to learn about the current events in Poland. The channel attempts to create a positive image of Poland and Poles, presenting outstanding Polish citizens and their input in world achievements. TVP Polonia promotes Poland abroad by presenting tourist attractions and the natural environment of the country, its regional uniqueness, undergoing changes in the countryside as well as Poland’s position in the development of Europe and the European Union.
