The series directed by Bodo Kox is based on the screenplay by Wenanty Nosul and Krzysztof Węglarz. It tells the story of the armed activities of the Home Army fighting against the German occupier during World War II in Warsaw. The series presents events related to the unit, code-named "The Claw", operating within the structures of Home Army counterintelligence. It has been modeled after the famous 'Wapiennik' counterintelligence unit, set up in 1941, which one of its main tasks was to eliminate people sentenced by underground courts. The events shown in the series were inspired by real actions in occupied Warsaw.
