On Friday, December 25, TVP1 began broadcasting the new historical series "Osiecka". The 13-episode series presents a biography of the poetess, Agnieszka Osiecka.

Agnieszka Osiecka was a famous Polish poetess, writer, journalist, theatre and television director, and author of more than 2000 lyrics. The series also depicts artistic, moral and political realities of her time. Osiecka lived between 1936 and 1997. Her artistic activity included cooperation with theatres, radio, stage and television. She created not only poetry, but also plays, collages, and musicals. Her lyrics written to the music of the most famous composers and performed by the greatest Polish singers, became an inimitable element of the Polish musical culture.
TVP production presents a wide panorama of the cultural and social life in Warsaw and Poland over several decades. Apart from Osiecka, the protagonists are the most outstanding representatives of Polish cultural life of her time. Viewers may follow Osiecka’s spectacular successes and failures, both in the fight against the then censorship, as well as resulting from her difficult life choices.
The first three episodes of "Osiecka" were aired on December 25, 26 and 27, 2020 at 8:15 p.m. The average audience was 2.41 million viewers, according to Nielsen Audience Measurement data. This makes a 15.86% share of the television market among all viewers, 8.74% in the commercial group 16-49 and 11.09% in the 16-59 group. The first episode gathered the largest audience of 2.71 million viewers with 18,3% market share.
