The film based on short stories authored by Marek Nowakowski is aimed at debunking lies about martial law and atmosphere of those times, which until now have been presented by selective, documental, wide-shot pictures observed from afar by a camera, often cold and reserved with unremarkable narrative. It is a fictional story of a high school student, Jacek, which in the context of Grzegorz Przemyk’s story serves as a universal sign of those times. The time and place of the action, as well as some of the characters are common for all of the selected short stories. The protagonists find themselves in the heart of a demonstration which Motorized Reserves of the Citizens' Militia is trying to break up. These events will serve as the main setting of the climax of this 24-hour story, which takes place on 3rd and 4th May 1982. The film consists of classic photos and animation. Realistic photos of the actors intertwine with animation and archival materials. Music typical for those times adds atmosphere and texture to the entire story.
