The screenplay by Michał Kwieciński and Michał Matejkiewicz is based on the motifs of the autobiographical novel by Leopold Tyrmand entitled "Filip". The action of the film takes place in Frankfurt 1943. The title character ( Eryk Kulm Jr.) is a cosmopolitan incapable of deeper feelings and a seducer who has lost his entire family and escapes death himself. Concealing his Jewish background, he works in Nazi Germany as a waiter in the restaurant of an exclusive hotel among other forced laborers from all over Europe. Filip's intricately built world collapses like a house of cards when the war begins to take a bloody toll among his loved ones.

The film has already received important film awards: "Silver Lions" at the 47th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia as well as the individual award for cinematography to Michał Sobociński and to Dariusz Krysiak for make-up in the film.
