The story of the Karen people who are a persecuted Burmese minority. To escape the terror of Burmese military junta, Madzi and Lame move to Thailand. Unfortunately, there they come up against another form of repression. To be able to earn their living Madzi decides to work as a tourist attraction and starts wearing Burmese hoops which are a long-forgotten decoration in the Karen people tradition. This documentary depicts the lives and traditions of a group of people with their specific beliefs and ceremonies.
