The documentary is an attempt to portray one of the major creators of Polish cinema. Krzysztof Kieślowski gained international acclaim and recognition for his outstanding works among others: the Decalogue cycle, Three colours or The Double Life of Veronique. The author of the documentary tried to present Kieślowski through the people that talk about him, his movies and achievements. This outstanding director started his career as a documentary maker, he was an insightful critic and observer of reality. He used this kind of experience in his later movies where he dealt with universal problems and issues that have been forever bothering people. Kieślowski made movies about people who stood against the general society, authorities, family and even themselves. He presented the man entangled in contradictions, confronted with the inner yearning for freedom, equality and justice.
