In the centre of the Old Continent, on Poland’s eastern border and the western limits of Belarus, beats the heart of Europe’s last lowland Primeval Forest, as it has for thousands of years. Deep within this shadowy green world, the same trails are still followed by the emperors of the Forest – the European bison. The Białowieża Primeval Forest is the only reminder of the primeval forests that once densely covered the European lowlands.
