Karol Wojtyła's friends talk about their relationships with the future pope and their kayaking and hiking adventures. Everything started in the church of St. Florian in Cracow where Fr. Karol Wojtyła was a vicar. He was well-liked by the acolytes for playing football with them. They met him regularly during scientific seminars, at first within the Catholic Association of Young Men, whose members were students from various Cracovian universities. Among memories of their hiking, during which he was called "Uncle" in order not to reveal that there is a priest in their group, there was one of Karol Wojtyła's homilies about wandering. He said that wandering is an opportunity to rest but it can also be an opportunity to reset if young people start wondering what they want to change in their lives and what is worth focusing on.
