In 1954 priest Karol Wojtyła started 24-year-long tenure at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Catholic University of Lublin, at the Department of Ethics. After his election for the pope, his students hung a banner reading: "Our Professor Has Become the Pope!". The film is the first documentary showing the academic achievements of Karol Wojtyła, which became an intellectual foundation for his papacy. There he continued developing his thoughts mentioned in his books Love and Responsibility and The Acting Person. It is a cinematic journey through time, full of memories of his friends, co-workers and students as well as unique pictures and films. The story is guided by Priest Professor Alfred Wierzbicki, the current director of the Department of Ethics, which was led by Wojtyła between 1954-1978. Other speakers in the film include prof. Andrzej Kłoczkowski, dr Stanisław Majdański, prof. Zofia J. Zdybicka, Halina Bortnowska, prof. Maria Braun-Gałkowska, prof. Jerzy Gałkowski, prof. Stanisław Grygiel and prof. Andrzej Szostek.
