The film tells the story of reviving the memory of heroes buried in a collective grave that is passed by thousands of tourists every day. It’s a tale of soldiers that had streets named after them, songs composed and history books written but no-one had looked for their remains for almost 80 years. In a neglected park, right next to the souvenir stands, human remains are found. This prompts one of the most important historical investigations in Poland after the fall of communism. To identify the recovered bodies the case gets involvement from the prosecutor’s office and the best forensic genetics specialists.
