Tadeusz Kościuszko is the first hero of contemporary Poland and Lithuania. The film shows his biography in a dynamic arch between the tension of the times in which he lived and the character of the protagonist. The viewer will find in this story an attempt to answer the question asked by generations of Central Europeans – how to survive in the "bloody lands", between the East and the West. The life of Kościuszko – a typical representative of the middle class of the 18th century, his decisions and choices make up an exceptionally current story.
