The story of a 72-year-old father, a retired teacher, who pursues his passion for travel. In 2018, he and his son, whom he instilled with a love of mountains and Himalayan mountaineering, take on the challenge of the world's fifth-highest mountain, Makalu. The two protagonists, inseparable on the trail, are on the verge of fulfilling their dreams, but just below the summit, father and son are faced with a dramatic choice that puts their lives on the line. Three years after returning from Makal, the senior is struggling to return to his former shape. He seeks new activities suitable for his health and age. At the same time, the son starts his own family and moves to another country to settle down. The protagonists lose touch with each other, caught up in the mundanity of everyday life, they have to put aside their joint plans. A family reunion years later awakens a longing for the mountains in the climbers, resulting in a renewed attempt to test themselves together on the trail.
